Most small businesses do not need
a ten-page website

They need three good ones. A page that explains who they are, a page that explains what they do, and a page that makes it easy to get in touch. That covers what almost every local customer is actually looking for when they land on a small business site from their phone.

So that is what the starter package is. Three pages, designed properly rather than dropped into a template, for a flat $999. You choose which three from the menu below. We will tell you honestly which ones we would pick for a business like yours, and we will tell you if we think you need more than three before we take your money.

We have been building websites for small businesses in Halton and the western GTA since 1999. This is the same build quality we put into a $4,000 project, on a smaller footprint.

Choose the three pages
your business actually needs

Home is included in every package, so in practice you are choosing two more from this list. Not sure? Call us and we will tell you what we would pick and why.

Home

Your front door. Who you are, what you do, where you do it, and one clear next step. Every package includes this one, so really you are picking two more.

Services

What you offer and what it costs, or at least what it starts at. This is usually the page that does the selling, and it is the one that ranks for the searches people actually type.

Contact

Phone, email, a form that works, hours, and a map if you have a location. Sounds basic. It is the page most cheap websites get wrong.

About

Your story, how long you have been doing this, and who the customer is actually dealing with. For one-person businesses this often outperforms the services page.

Location & Directions

Address, embedded map, parking notes, hours, transit. Worth a slot if people physically come to you, and it feeds your Google Business Profile.

Gallery / Portfolio

Before and after shots, finished projects, your work. If what you sell is visual, this page closes more jobs than any paragraph you could write.

Testimonials / Reviews

Real reviews from real customers, pulled in from Google. Cheap to build, and it does the trust work that a stranger reading your site needs done.

Team / Bio

Faces and names. Matters most for therapists, realtors, consultants, clinics and anyone whose service is a person rather than a product.

FAQ

The eight questions you answer on the phone every week. Saves you time, and answer engines like ChatGPT and Google’s AI results pull from pages like this.

Menu / Price List

For restaurants, salons, clinics and anyone with a fixed list of offerings. A real page beats a PDF, because Google can read it.

Booking / Request a Quote

A dedicated page with a proper form for quote requests or appointment enquiries. Note that live booking software integration is a paid add-on.

Blog Landing

A home for articles if you plan to publish. Only worth a slot if you will actually write. If you are not sure, do not spend a page on it.

Need a fourth or fifth page? Additional pages are $175 each, quoted up front, and you can add them at launch or a year later.

Everything in the $999

Custom design, not a template

Designed around your business, your colours and your customers. We do not buy a theme, change the logo and call it a day.

Mobile-first, genuinely

The phone layout is designed first and the desktop follows. Most local traffic in Ontario arrives on a phone, so that is where we start.

Working contact form

A form that reaches your inbox, tested before launch, with spam protection. You would be amazed how often this is the broken part.

On-page SEO foundations

Proper heading structure, unique page titles and meta descriptions, schema markup, XML sitemap. The groundwork so the site can rank.

Google Search Console & Analytics

Both connected and verified at launch, so you can actually see who is finding you and what they searched for.

Google Business Profile check

We make sure your name, address and phone match between your site and your Google Business Profile. Small thing, big local ranking factor.

SSL and speed

Compressed images, minimal scripts, secure certificate. Core Web Vitals checked before launch rather than after you complain.

You own all of it

The files, the domain, the content. No proprietary platform, no licence to keep paying, nothing held hostage if you leave.

Where the starter package
sits against everything else

Every tier is a fixed fee quoted in writing before any work starts. No hourly meter, no surprise invoice at the end.

Wondering what these numbers mean in context? We broke down what a website actually costs in Ontario, including what everyone else charges.

What the $999 does not cover

We would rather tell you now than have you find out at invoice time. None of these are in the starter package, and all of them can be quoted separately if you want them.

Hosting and domain

Roughly $20 to $30 a month depending on the plan, or bring your own. We will set it up either way. See maintenance and hosting.

Photography and logo design

We will use photos you have or good stock imagery. Original photography and logo work are separate.

Copywriting from scratch

We will edit and tighten what you give us. Writing all your content from a blank page is an add-on.

E-commerce and booking systems

Selling online or live appointment booking needs different infrastructure. Quoted separately.

Ongoing SEO

The site launches with the foundations in place. Actually climbing the rankings is ongoing work. See SEO services.

Pages four and up

$175 per additional page, quoted before we build it. Add them now or a year from now.

From phone call to live site

01

Quick call

Fifteen minutes. What your business does, who your customers are, and which three pages make sense. We will say so if we think the starter package is not the right fit for you.

02

Fixed quote in writing

$999, itemized, with the three pages named and the timeline attached. Nothing starts until you say yes.

03

You send content

Text, photos, logo, hours. We give you a simple checklist so nothing gets missed. This is usually the part that sets the pace.

04

Design and build

We build the three pages, you review, we adjust. One round of revisions is included.

05

Launch

Domain pointed, SSL on, forms tested, Search Console and Analytics connected, sitemap submitted to Google. Live in two to three weeks.

06

You own it

Files, domain, content, all yours. Stay with us for hosting or take it elsewhere. No contract either way.

The starter package suits
these businesses best

If you recognise yourself here, $999 is probably the right number for you. If you do not, we will tell you.

Brand new businesses

You just registered the name and you need something real for the business cards and the Google listing. Start here, grow later.

Businesses running off Facebook

A Facebook page is not a website and it does not rank in Google. Three proper pages fix that for less than most people expect.

Trades and single-service operators

Plumbers, electricians, landscapers, painters. One service, one area, a phone that needs to ring. Three pages does that job.

Anyone with a site from 2012

If it does not work on a phone, Google is already penalising it. A clean three-page rebuild often outperforms the old ten-page site.

Side businesses testing the water

Not ready to spend four thousand dollars on something unproven. Fair enough. This is the low-risk version.

Consultants and solo professionals

Coaches, therapists, agents, bookkeepers. People are hiring you, not a company. Home, About and Contact is often the whole story.

We build these for businesses in Oakville, Milton, Burlington, Georgetown and Halton Hills, Mississauga, Orangeville and Caledon. See also which three pages your type of business should pick and what affordable web design should actually mean.

Fair questions about a $999 website

The ones we get asked on nearly every call.

What exactly is the $999 starter website package?

It is a three-page website, custom designed for your business, built mobile-first and ready for Google. You pick which three pages you want from our list, we design and build them, and the $999 is a one-time fee covering the whole build. Hosting and the domain are separate and run about $20 to $30 a month. There is no contract and you own everything.

Why only three pages?

Because for a lot of small businesses, three pages is genuinely all they need to start. A home page, a page explaining what you do, and a page telling people how to reach you covers most of what a local customer is looking for. Building three pages properly beats building ten pages badly, and it keeps the price honest. When you need more pages later, we add them at a flat rate per page.

Which three pages should I choose?

For most businesses the answer is Home, Services and Contact. If you rely on walk-in traffic, swap Contact for a Location page with a map and hours. If your work is visual, like landscaping, renovations or salons, a Gallery page usually earns its spot. If you are a consultant, therapist or agent where people are hiring you personally, an About or Bio page does more work than anything else. We will tell you honestly what we would pick for your business.

Is $999 the real price or a starting price?

It is the real price for the three-page package as described. It is fixed and it is in writing before we start. If you later want a fourth page, e-commerce, a booking system or a blog, those are quoted separately and you decide. We do not start a job at $999 and hand you a bigger invoice at the end.

How is this different from Wix or Squarespace?

With a DIY builder you are the designer, the copywriter and the support desk, and you pay $20 to $50 a month forever for the privilege. Over three years that is $700 to $1,800 in subscriptions for a site you built yourself. With this package a designer builds it, you own the files outright, and you can move it to any host you like. The monthly cost after launch is hosting only.

What is not included at $999?

Photography, logo design, copywriting from scratch, e-commerce, booking systems, membership areas, multi-language versions and ongoing SEO work are all outside the package. We will quote any of them separately if you want them. We would rather list what is out than let you find out later.

How long does it take?

Usually two to three weeks from the day we have your content. The slow part is almost never the build, it is waiting on text and photos. If you have those ready, it moves quickly.

Do you actually work with businesses outside Halton?

Yes. We are based in Georgetown and most of our clients are in Oakville, Milton, Burlington, Halton Hills, Mississauga, Orangeville and Caledon. The starter package works the same anywhere in Ontario, and plenty of it gets handled over the phone and by email.
